front progressive springs....lost instructions

Post by Mark Long » Mon May 12, 2003 8:38 pm

Hey all... A couple of weeks ago I bought front and rear springs from Arrowhead Motorsports for my KLR 650. I made my choice, for the springs, based on opinions I read here and have been very happy with the rear spring. I just now started to install the front springs and I can't seem to find the instructions! I think it said to cut the spacers down to 2" but I am not sure....does anyone know the length of the new spacer? And also, will I have to add any oil to the forks? When I pulled the springs out no oil really came out with them and it still should be fairly clean (i would think)as the bike is only 4 mos. old. I have really appreciated all of the advice that I have received in the past. Thanks in advance. M.Long A17

1989 KLR650 with 16,000+ miles. Aftermarket stuff includes hand guards, skid plate, footpegs, steel braid brake lines (front and rear) and new (less than 50 miles) Metzler Tourance tires. Bought it last fall and have only put on a couple hundred miles. Don't have time to ride it, and 17-year-old daughter needs a car. Bike is in Hickory, NC (near Charlotte). Clear title. $1700.
