I did this also works great.before I did it I disabled the kickstand safety switch and then remove all the crap related to it . It made getting to the carb easier and rerouting the lines for decalifornicating easier. I have an 88 ,but I don't think yours is much different at all.Anyway go to http://klr6500.tripod.com at top left go to procedures and you should find both procedures.Remember these bikes were made by little people with little hands,take your time.
