Can anyone help me with a carb removal procedure? I removed the
side covers, seat, and gas tank, but getting the carb out took a lot
of persuasion...Should the airbox come off from the back to make it
easier to get the carb in and out? I couldn't find an easy way to
do this...

carb removal procedure
I've always been able to get the carb in and out, just by removing the
hoseclamps on the intake and airbox boots. I remove the throttle cables,
remove the choke cable from the handlebar and un-route the cable so I
can rotate the fitting on the carb out of the way. Disconnect the bowl
vent hose.
Then, while standing on the right side of the bike, grab the carb by
both sides and pull it straight back into the airbox boot, until you can
pivot it out of the intake boot. Installing is the exact reverse, with a
little practice you don't need any prying or grabbing tools to get the
boots fitted.

Dude, your wires are crossed...
Black/yellow is GROUND
Brown/white is Hot.
red positive means hot.
blk/orange negative means ground.
so hook the red to Brown/White
blk/orange to Black/Yellow
In my first replyI did take the time to get my manual and look this
up.
My concern would be that maybe possibly your elements or switch
housing could ground out. MEMYSELF and I would switch them wires.
So disregard what I had at the end of my first response about does it
really matter.
or maybe it dont.

I have my wires hooked to a gps and I did that along time ago so I
don't recall from that job.
Looking at the schematic I'd say the BR/W is hot. It ties into R/W
that goes to the ignition and taillight. The BK/Y is the common of
the tail light. In fact BK/Y is the common of all the lights and the
cutoff switch. And I just noticed that BK/Y is what comes off the
negative terminl of the battery. So BY/Y is the ground.
The wire colors labeled by the color. meaning that BK/Y means all
black w/ a yellow strip.
I'd say BR/W is hot. definately. All brown w/ white stripe.
On heated grips does it really mater ?
