non ca bike otter box mounting

Hi All, I ordered otter box (2500) and mount before reading that the non-CA bikes don't have the mount tabs -- it was right there on Kris' mount page -- I was just too impatient to read it. Anyone have experience creating some kind of "mount for the mount" on the helmet lock or any ideas about mounting the otter to a non-CA bike? This is a really cool box/mount and I'd love to get it on the bike to hold my tool kit as the tool kit bin is occluded by my givi mount. Thanks Dave ps: I have modified my seat by laying an equigel pad over the foam, and covering that with another 1/2 inch of foam, and recovering in black vynil.
