low cost plastic tank source?

Post by KLR650A1@ws2.net » Sun Sep 15, 2002 1:45 am

There's just too much rust in my tank to deal with, and plastic would save a lot of hassle. Looking for a low $$ plastic replacement- would like roughly same capacity and look, but do the plastic replacements allow attachment of the plastic "scoopers" on the front? Thanks Scottez A1

The IMS tank is meant to be used with the stock radiator shrouds. If I recall right, the price is $225 and the capacity is 5.5 gal. They also make a version, originally intended for the Marine diesels, that has extensions which replace the shrouds, and which hold additional gas.

klr sightings in camarillo, ca

Post by Darrel & Deanna » Sun Sep 15, 2002 8:11 pm

On the way to a friend's house to watch the boxing match last night, I saw a KLR rider on Carmen near Paseo Camarillo at about 7:30. Looked like a Y2K model. After the fight and a movie, saw another KLRist on Ponderosa, but too dark for details. Anybody from the list?
