used klr650 advice?
Hey gang:
I have an opportunity to pick up a 93 klr650 that
needs at least a little work. I'm including what I
know so far, what I'd like is a little advice on what
I should be on the lookout for. This would be my first
bike in a long while not counting the 89 250 rebel I
helped my daughter get recently. I''m looking for
something reliable for long backroad rides and some
dirt...

"1993 Black and Green Kawasaki KLX-650 with 24,000
miles.
Scott Shocks, Renthal Handlebars, Supertrapp Exhaust.
New Chains and Sprockets last summer.
Bike rides great, but needs tune up - throttle tends
to stick between 2-3000 rpms when shifting down to
first.
$1300 obo."

Thanks in advance for any tips.

nklr - purchased ninja 250
David,
Ah what memories? A Ninja 250. Splendid little anti-beast that churns
out 2 bhp less than the KLR 650 (but somewhat less torque!). So you
have to rev the gonads off it to get them. Redline is at 14,000 rpm
AFAIR.
I had no problems with mine except for a warped front brake rotor
(disk).
Cheers,

order for a NW rack and a bash plate)
