Hello,
What was the last year that the klr650 came with a kick start? Is it
possible to install a kick start in later models?

1995 was the last year the KLR650 was capable of having the optional
kickstart installed.
Modifications to the clutch basket of the later year bikes made the kickstart
incompatable.
Some ambitious engineer could configure the ideler gear to match the
kickstarter for the 1996 and later bikes.

What years, if any Klr were made with kickstart? I am considering
buying a klr, but i would really like to have a kickstart for the
heck of it. I heard that 1995 versions had a kickstart? Is this true?
Is it possible to install a kickstarter on a 1995+ model?

First, I am not a mechanic nor do I play one on TV. When torquing
bolts use the thread diameter NOT the bolt head size to determine
values. If you use the head size you might not be happy with the
results when you snap the $%^#*&^&$ thing! I posted this just in
case I was not the only person in the world who did not know it.
