I ordered my givi case, mount, backrest from Tim at happy trails yesterday, I wanted it overnighted but then didn't when I heard the price of overnight shipping and told him to ship it ground, after talking with my significant other she told me to just pay the extra cause we needed it this weekend (cool girl huh!) so I called them back and told them I would like it overnighted instead, they said not a problem it would go out today (yesterday) and be there in the morning. I should have called later in the day to ask for a tracking number (I normally do) but I didn't I trusted that they would ship it without a problem. Ups came and went today and I called happy trails again, my case did not get shipped, not because it was not there or anything else it just did not get shipped. They said they will have it here for me tomarro and that they would pay for the additional saturday delivery charge (i'm still paying for overnight, they are just paying the little extra for sat delivery). I'm still really kinda still upset though, I drove my truck to work instead of my bike to be able to take the box home (just because I didn't know what tools it would take to install it on my bike) and now I have to come back to work on saturday and sit here until UPS comes and delivers my package. It seems like I got majorly incovenienced and they didn't do very much to make me happy again. What should I do? Trev A16

Kinda same thing happend when I ordered my engine Guard and skid plate. My order just kept sitting there, every time I called I was told it was shipped... My side racks will come from Arne. The Happy Trails products are very well made, couldn't be more pleased with the quality, service is another story

FWIW, I placed my order on the phone with Tim on a Thursday, sent a check in the mail. Tim said to expect shipment the following Mon. or Tues. My racks and shift lever arrived on Thursday. I'm satisfied.

I would agree... The custom bash plates that Devon and I had made by HT ended up being cut short for a centerstand due to a miscommunication in the order. Tim was contacted about this and has been nothing short of fanastic in dealing with the issue. He gets 4 gold stars for customer service. Z DC

I'm genuinely sorry that you had to drive a truck to work instead of your KLR- that deeply sucks (not joking). But in the grand scheme of things it was a minor misstep, and Tim is usually a very good guy sorting these things out. Mistakes happen, especially when you run a small business with a lot of products and a few people. Paying for Saturday delivery is certainly fair. If it was me, and I hadn't helped confuse them by calling and changing my mind about the shipping, I would probably want a little more than the Saturday delivery picked up. I wouldn't hesitate to buy stuff from Happy-trails again. Devon

Just my 2 cents here.... I would be dissapointed, but not upset. It doesn't look like the vendor told you the old "we have it in stock" bait and switch. It just didn't get out in time. It happens. Now if they took the order, told you it would ship overnite, then the next day told you the item was backordered with no delivery date (like MAW used to do to me before I found Fred) then I would be upset. But that doesn't seem to be the case. You'll like the Givi bag. Pat

Trevor, Beth works a call center, right? She will be very understanding, I would think. Customer service issues happen (says this customer service supervisor). Don't let it spoil your ride this weekend. I've talked my cousin into going to the car show. (But he bailed on the Great Northwest Adventure.) He has lockable side bags and top case on his Vulcan Nomad. Plenty of room to lock up your Joe Rocket jacket, and Beth's jacket, too. See ya Sunday. Bill

I understand your frustration Trev. When you want something, you want it NOW!!.. However, an old saying that we use a lot comes to mind: "Your failure to plan does not constitute an emergency on our part." Let's face it, ordering something and expecting it to arrive the next day is ... well it's just darned hopeful. I hope that when you get the bags, that they live up to your expectations and you can give us the full report, including attachment to the bike.. One a similar vein, I have placed a couple of orders via the internet lately to Aerostich and Dennis Kirk. All the the orders (2 from Aerostich, 1 from DK) arrived two days later. I think that is pretty darned good. And I've never waited more than two days for anything from Fred either.... I know that Tim does a good job, and Jake has always shipped within a day of me talking to him. Dual Star took about 10 days to ship me the muffler heat guard, and that was not bad, I didn't think. Anyway, ride safe!! MNRon

If you ran into this kind of service problem with a major mail order firm, you would have every right to be upset. When you order from a small, custom, mom&pop operation you are simply not going to get perfect, prompt service. On the other hand, you will get beautiful handmade products (Yes, realize you ordered a Givi box, not one of Tim's products.) from Happy Trails. Besides, you shouldn't be installing a something new on the bike the night before you head out on a big trip anyway. ;-) Ralph -- Ralph E. Had the same problem about 15 years ago (Not with Happy Trails). I ordered something over the phone. They said they had it in stock. I asked for 2nd day UPS shipping. They said OK. Over a week went by and I didn't get anything. called up and said they hadn't shipped it yet. I said I wanted it 2ND day air. They said yeah we know, buts thats 2nd day from when we ship it and we only ship once a month.
