ride from phx to prescott
I'll probably be riding to prescott from Phoenix on thursday (tomorrow). I
may take the back way through lake pleasant up to crown king. Or I may go
via the old black Canyon hwy through Gillette, Bumble Bee, and Cleator.
Probably the later, because last time I was on the old Crown King road it
was terrible, and that was on a nimble XR200. Then over to prescott via the
senator highway. I may ride around up by the ranger station in crown king
too. So if you see a blue 99' with a windsheild and highway bars, that's me.
I should be stopping for lunch in Prescott. I may not get a chance to check
my mail before I go in the morning, but keep an eye out for me!

I never realized I had a fear of heights until the last time I went to
Prescott the back way. Followed a buddy on his DR, I was lost most of the
time, but managed to scare the _ _ i t out of myself on one of the dirt
roads on a cliff.
Don't think I'll be doing that again any time too soon!!
But it was a great ride, only dropped it once.

ride from phx to prescott
Ryan,
Speeking of Prescott, I was in Prescott Valley when my shift lever broke. It
was late in the afternoon of Good Friday. I could just see myself stuck
there until Monday. A customer at a gas station referred me to Dale Sims,
Owner of Northern Arizona Alignment ATV & Off Road. 6411 Copper Hill Dr.
It took me a little while to find his place, driving around in second gear.
Dale welded it, and I'm still using it. So if you need anything while in
that area, keep him in mind. He's good people.
When I got home, I ordered a new shifter from Kawasaki. Then I found out
about the heavy duty shifter that I should have ordered. Oh well, maybe I
can go another 43,000 before it happens again.

bike and swore he would never go that way again. Thanks, I may end up avoiding it. I will start at Lake Pleasant and then I have typed Columbia, Humbug, Gillette, and TipTop into my GPS. Then from Gillette I plan to run up the good road to Crown King via Bumble Bee. Ahh, cool day in the pines. Nice. I think the roads around those small ghost towns are either very bad, or non-existant. We'll see how far I get. So if I get lost, you know where I am. LOL, email me when you get back so I dont send a search party out after you. Too bad I have to work, there are a couple of us in N Phx that would go. I just found out the top speed of my KLR650 is 72 mph. 65 is about the fastest I want to go for any distance, 60 about comfortable. Careful with sparks out there it is VERY dry.
