I'm thinking about replacing the OEM stator and rectifier with the
Electrex upgrades. Any advice and/or intructions? Thanks.

There are a couple of very cheap and easy mods you can do to the charging
system that will give you another .3v or .5v charging power.
What electrics are you using, that you feel it's worthwhile to spend
hundreds of dollars to replace properly functioning stock equipment?

stator, rectifier
I purchased a RR26 regulator rectifier from Electrex about a little
over a month ago for an application on a Kawasaki Vulcan. The RR26
is the same "replacement" unit sold for the KLR. After receipt of
the unit, I found out that it was thicker than the original unit and
the original bolts did not fit in the new unit. Secondly, the wires
of the unit were not as long as the original...in fact, they were
three inches too short and the unit would not fit in the original
mounting position due to the short wires.
I sent Electrex an email however I never received a reply. I
finally called, and Dave acknowledged that he received the email but
did not bother to reply. Dave told me to send the unit back and he
would turn it around in 5 days. That was three weeks ago.
I called yesterday and Dave promised to get the wires extended and
returned. I am less than pleased with the service.
I can't tell you if the unit works or not and hopefully it will be
wonderful but Electrex customer service stinks!
