subframe upgrade kit

Post by Blargesse@aol.com » Sat Feb 09, 2002 8:55 am

With all the talk about the subframe bolts, I went ahead and ordered the Dual-Star upgrade kit. I haven't had a chance to even look at doing the installation but did have a question about the spacer they provide. There's no directions other than the information on the website. Has anybody done the installation and do you know what the spacer is for. I would probably figure it out when I finally go to do the install but thought I'd ask. Thanks for the help. I ordered their subframe bolt kit also. I haven't gotten it yet, but Jeff, (the order-taking guy), already told me that the washer/spacer is for, (Devon will appreciate this), the LEFT lower subframe bolt. It's used to be sure there is absolutely no chance of chain contact with the bolt end... Wise men still seek Him... Mark St.Hilaire, Sr A15 Also: KLR6500@... I used a 30mm bolt with three washers under the head. Dunno if multiple washers are a problem but I'll find out.

mikuni carb kit for klr650?

Post by Devon Jarvis » Sat Feb 09, 2002 7:21 pm

I'm having my bike dynoed on Wednesday I hope, with the fully stock setup, so I can do a before/after comparison. I will try the Mikuni with a fully stock airbox setup first, and see what I get on the dyno. I am not looking for more horsepower, just more immediate throttle response and more low-end torque. With the stock pipe and airbox it is highly unlikely that I will get any gains over 3000rpm, but that's OK. My two-valve, 500CC 24-year-old SR500 has more punch down low than my KLR. And that's just wrong. Devon TLrydr@... wrote:
