noisey at idle to 2,000 rpm

I am a new owner of a 2000 klr 650 and was curious about the noises that the engine makes at idle and upon starting out from a stop. it seems fairly quiet at ranges above 2,000 r.p.m. the bike has 1800 miles on it and was supposably serviced already(first service), does not seem to be detonation as it is not noticable at higher rpm. also wanted to know if it is possible to adjust the timing of these bikes and where u access the adjustment thanxz..........
