Post by bischoffmm » Thu Jan 03, 2002 5:37 pm

Dear KLR Friends, Looks like everybody uses whatever they can find on sale. I just drained the oil out of my "new" 1998 KLR, and would like to replace it with the right stuff. Please advise, Thanx, hal

Hey Hal, Check out the POLLS section of the list to get an idea of the motor oil types and change frequencies some of the guys on the list use for their own KLR's. Brad

31 something w/ the KLR650 and a CBR600 who.. uhmm.. still goes fast but doesn't care about who else does.. At least until the Miata's go to Sebring for lap times. :) I bought the KLR for touring and fire-roading, the CBR for Deals Gap and NC/TN mountain runs, and the Miata because a street-legal go-kart with a license plate is always a nice thing to have (though I need stronger hamsters under the hood). I highly enjoy the elevated level of maturity that comes with this particular list, especially when you look at how many people are on this list.

Not to mention the sheer amount of knowledge and learning that is done from this list as well as the adventure stories, tales of triumph (and sadly tragedy), etc. This list has saved me quite a bit of money and time and will continue to do so in the future. I'm happy to be a part of it! -Welcome aboard!
