rear brake follies

Hi all, I know this problem has come up before, but I haven't seen a good solution. The rear brake anti rattle spring won't allow the piston side pad to seat. I've spent 2 hours trying to get the new Galfer pads on the rear, going through all kinds of convolutions to get the rear caliper re-assembled. There doesn't seem to be enough room for the anti rattle spring and the pad to exsist in the same spot when the caliper is put back together. The A13 manual shows the stupid spring upside down, and there is no clear photo or close-up. Seems the 2 "forks" of the spring are supposed to cradle the pad, but when the the sliding plate that holds the inner or stationary pad is installed, there ain't enough room for the pad and the spring to all fit together. There are 2 notches in the sliding plate to allow the outer pad to slip through in its travel, but the spring seems to interfere... round and round... By the way, the front pads and braided line went in pretty smoothly. Does anyone have the rosetta stone that will allow me to reassemble this "rubick's cube" of a rear caliper? GT

Ok, stop the presses. I HAD THE SPRING UPSIDE DOWN. Duh. The fork of the spring goes along the body of the caliper. Damn my memory! The only photo I saw was at finisline west. Thanks man for having that photo! GT -- In DSN_klr650@y..., "gwtompkins" wrote:

kenda k270 mileage

I have over 5000 miles (mostly street) on my rear Kenda and there is a lot of tread left. I run the tire at about 30 p.s.i. and use Slime. It's a very good tire for the money. Lubing the swingarm is not bad but I had trouble disassembling it.
