I've got a friend who carb is cracked. The diaphragm won't seat
correctly. Any one got an extra sitting around?

I'll second that, however I just hold the front wheel between my legs and
give the bars a twist. Go for a quick ride and repeat as necessary. Works
for minor tweaks, but you may have to loosen the clamps if it doesn't work.
