Ok, I picked up some Mobil 1 15W50 for an oil change. I know the sight glass is incorrect, what is the proper amount for an A15? 2 quarts + 10 ounces? Jeff San Bruno

The owners' manual says 2.5 with the filter change, so that's what it gets - I do the measured 2.5 because it's easier and quicker than fooling around with the sight glass... Read the FAQ. Oh wait. It isn't in there yet. Uh, some folks say to follow the owner's manual. Others say "top of the sight-glass plus 10 ounces." Both groups have healthy KLR's. I compromise and keep my oil at the top of the sight-glass. My bike is healthy too. RM __________________________________________________ Terrorist Attacks on U.S. - How can you help? 2.5 liters (not quarts) total, or 10 oz. above the top mark on the sight glass. -- Marc, KLR650 A12, Loveland, Colorado, USA ----Original Message-----

The owners' manual says 2.5 with the filter change, so that's what it gets - I do the measured 2.5 because it's easier and quicker than fooling around with the sight glass... ____________ Very good...that will put it exactly 10 ounces above the sight glass and when you can see a gap you can add another 10 ounces. The KLR600 manual lists the KLR600's crankcase capacity as 2.0 liters. Sorry, I have no information about the KLR600's oil sight glass. -- Marc, KLR650 A12, Loveland, Colorado, USA ----Original Message-----

Use 2.5l , it's printed on both the crankcase AND the manual. (this will be well above the sight glass). Enough said. Here we go again. Devon squidwannabe@... wrote:

sight glass. Ok then... by my calculation, 2.5L converts to 2 quarts + 20 ounces. And the turn signal fluid should just be topped off, right? Muchos gracias. Jeff
