If you really think about it, we really haven't evolved very far since homo erectus, or whatever they call early man. We are still throwing rocks and spears at each other, we just found different ways to do it. Now our rocks are made of lead and propelled by a man made substance. Our spears are now powered by fuel. Humans polite? Only when they have to be, and even then we sometimes fail to meet that standard. Humans civilized, in some aspects we have changed, yet we persist in acting like two twelve year old boys fighting it out on the school yard field, after school. The only difference is that our rocks are much faster, and kill quicker. As for our spears, well we sit miles away and throw those, these days. Why must man, be the only species on this planet that continuously hits, maims, or kills one another? You don't see that in nature in most cases. Animals kill for food, protection, and to weed out the weak. Man kills for enjoyment. Not every man, but way too many. And no, I'm no tree hugger. In fact, as many can attest, I'm way on the other side. It just strikes me ironic that with all of our material advances, the basic human instinct to kill really has not refined itself much. Wouldn't it be nice if we could behave like most animals and only kill for food or protection of the self and family unit? Just something to ponder on. Jim AMA585601
