plastic tanks

Post by aches@deltech.net » Wed Jul 19, 2000 12:09 pm

Just thinking bout it. BMW has them on the R11GS's for a few years. No problem with most of them. Lots of guys wanted to change them out just because the thought they might bubble in the futrue. I did 50K miles on mine without a problem. Oh yes, the guys that did change out were surprized. The new steel ones held 1 gal less fuel. Also, my '69 Norton Commando had a fiberglass tank. Anyone know the name of the outfit that sells the plastic tank for the klr and hopefully their website address. I thought it was IMS but I can't locate them on the net. Thanks, Bogdan

Put it down for one more pair, y2k KLR and a 99ST standard in south west missouri -----Original Message----- I have exactly the same cycle combo - 99KLR and a 97ST. I have been tracking the list for several years now, and KLR's and ST's are surprisingly common stable mates.
