I need some advice from the group. I've developed a squeak in the vacinity of the front fork on my 2000 KLR-650. It sounds like it might be coming from the front brake-pad but it does not go away when the brake is applied. The faster the bike is going, the faster the squeak, but it's always the same pitch. What should I check first, the torque on the front fork, the speedo- cable, or something I have'nt thought of. Thanks, Steve

I have the same problem on my A15, with 1200 miles on it. It's there regardless of whether the brake is applied or not, but usually only faster than about 20mph. My mechanic took the front wheel and axle off "straightened" the forks and that solved it for about a day. If you find yours, lemme know. Jeff

I am not yet familiar with the KLR speedo gear on the front hub (and hopefully will not have to be) but I would pull the front wheel, clean and grease the speedo gear, and get a bit of grease between all the bushings, spacers etc. Also oil the speedo cable. Devon jayed36@... wrote:
