I like "Syn-Lube SLWW" because it is water washable, but you probably can't get it outside of Australia, and I'm not sure if it is still available here.

Never seen it, I but haven't looked very hard either.

Depends on what it says on the filter fluid label.

Such solvents _may_ reduce the life of the foam element, but they are fairly cheap to replace anyway.

They have allegedly better filtration and less flow resistance. And they are washable and reusable. I can't vouch for any claim, but I did buy a K&N for my Honda RC17 so I wouldn't have to keep forking out A$45 for the factory paper filters (which have gone down in price, they used to be about A$60). Hi all, I did the upgrade by installing the new jets & K&N filter. But, of course, the pilot screw is almost inaccessible. I hear Jake makes a tool to use to adjust the screw while the carb is still in it's normal running position. Anyone know how to contact him and also what the cost of the tool is? My service manager doesn't want to buy the Mama K tool as the only KLR's around are mine. THANKS, Dale

Big Jake still isn't connected to the Internet, but you can check out his web site at: http://angelfire.com/ut/moab/sagebrush_machine_shop.html Let him know you saw this site on the Internet. Fred www.arrowheadmotorsports.com
