Well I've adjusted well to backyard riding, many thanks for the
"silly boy, stop lugging your engine" advice; I have now exorcized
one
demon from my low-range riding habits.
But I have another question.....
I adjusted my spring preload (the nut on top of the rear shock) for
the first time today. It started out at 1. I torqued to the
left...nothing. I torqued to the right...click (2). I torqued again
(3). Again (4). Again (5). And again (SPROINGGGGG!)...(1).
It would appear that I have reset the spring preload back to 1,
albeit
rather abruptly.
? Is this how the adjustment was designed?
? If not, what did I break and how do I fix it?
My second issue is that I can't find where to adjust the rebound
damping. I looked in the manual and I'm not seeing what it sees.
The
adjustment looks like it's supposed to be on the right side of the
bike, on the bottom portion of the shock. I looked there and on the
left side, and didn't see what I was looking for. My best guess is
that the adjustment is on the front or rear of the shock, reflecting
a
design change sometime between the model year of the illustrated bike
and the model year of my A15 (2001). Any info?

P.S. Is there a good month to search in the archives for newbie
questions? Like the first few months of this group's operation
perhaps? I'd hate to bug you all with rehashed fundamentals.

The adjustment is behind a black plastic cover right at the bottom of the shock on the right side. Just pop the cover off with your fingers and turn the dial.> My second issue is that I can't find where to adjust the rebound > damping. Your questions are fine...just don't bring up oil or sightglasses and we'll be fine. Peter B A15 Warthawg> Paladyn > A15 > > P.S.
