sprocket nut
WOW - going to replace front sprocket - looks like 27 mm!!??** Am I right? I
don't own one of those, and even my local Sears showed me in their catalog,
sears DOESN'T EVEN MAKE ONE!! What's everyone doing about this nut? My local
Carquest would be happy to sell me a 27 mm combi wrench for $35!! I'm only
going to need it this once! What to do??

sprocket nut
hi everybody, I'm back again with another 2001 KLR after being without one
for a while. I have started to put it into the trim I like and I have
ordered lots of stuff from Fred. Can anyone tell me the size of the sprocket
nut. I have to go out and buy a socket to change to my 16T and I don't know
the size.
Part of the enjoyment of owning KLR is this group. Thanks.

A 27mm 6-point socket is pretty hard to find. Go to Sears and get a a 1 1/16" 6-point. It fits perfectly. I was able to break mine looose with a 24" flex-handle (1/2" drive) and a small cheater pipe.
