Is there some trick to mounting a muffler. The clamp I have doesn't seem to squeeze the front of the Cobra enough to make a tight seal (as in the Cobra seems really big compared to the stock thing it mates with)... Any suggestions? Thanks, John A2 under construction

Did you use the factory exhaust donut/gasket? If you can't get it out of the stock muffler, they aren't that expensive at the dealer. John- The Cobra exhaust install is pretty tricky... First remove the Cobra from the bike, then carefully wrap it back up and stick it back in the box. Either send it back or shelve it and pawn it off on another unsuspecting lister in the future. Replace with the stock muffler. When Tweety calls, call Bogdan for concise instructions on how to dispatch Sylvester after Tweety. Revel in the glory of a stainless steel exhaust system that is quiet, reliable and does not self-destruct after 3,000 miles. John: I would try Swede's suggestion first and use the factory exhaust donut/gasket. Is the clamp too big? (i.e.: no more threads showing between the clamp ends). If so, you can get a smaller clamp or buy a exhaust bushing at Pep Boys for about 2 bucks and place it over the end of the front section of the Cobra and then put the provided clamp around the bushing (the bushing increases the outside diameter of the exhaust pipe at the mating point with the header). This is what I had to do with my Laser Pro Duro. John Is there some trick to mounting a muffler. --snip I had mine disintegrate also , so I bought a small piece of pipe that fit over the pipe and into the exhaust, cut some lines in it with a dremmel, and used a muffler clamp on it.. Can you say "jerry rig" or is that American ingenuity? Dale
