klr front fork adjustents - any options other than progressive spri

Are there any other adjustements short of buying new fork springs to stiffen the front shocks somewhat? I've tried adding air pressure, which helped only a little, but only went to about 10 psi ... anyone recommend a PSI for forks for off-road riding? Also, can you adjust the pre-load on the fork springs like you can on the rear shock? How difficult is this. Finally, would adding fork oil help at all? Thanks!
