argh! muffler fell off, now what...
Hello Everyone,
Nice to be back on the list. I ve been gone for about 2 years. I finished
up school, got a jobby job, got married, bought a condo, and adopted a dog.
But still riding my 97 KLR, but not enough time to keep up the perpetual
hunting down of loose bolts and low and behold my muffler fell off one night
coming home.
I retrieved the muffler, and it was pretty badly bashed up, especially the
clap connecting it to the header. The muffler is _probably_ still usable,
but I was already wanting something a little throatier than stock.
I already read the archived threads from earlier this year about mufflers
(some things never change on the list.) so lets not rehash all of that.
But I m considering doing a Swiss Cheese drill job to my muffler. (hey
nothing to loose, it s already all garfed up) Any experiences with drilling
up a stock muffler?
While I m at it I m looking into a carb rejet. I m thinking of yanking the
screen and opening up the air box. Currently I m running a 148 main jet
with 2.75 turns out on the pilot jet. Any suggestions for jet sizes and
settings? I saw motomarks page on 160 main jet. Seems like a big jump.
Any additional experiences?
Thanks,
Lance It s good to be back; wish I would check those bolts Rushing

Hi,
Husqvarna do the following in the USA:_
SM 570R Prabably the most poerfull 600 engine around, this bike is for track
only.
SM 610S Road legal with different 600 engine.
Both have 45mm Marzocchi forks the race bikes are USD
Both have 320mm Brembo brakes, I believe 6pot calipers. Awsome brakes after a
KLR, I know, have Brembo brakes on my new Husky 410.
