A lot of people just carry an AOL installation CD to place under the stand in soft stuff. Mark B2 A2

I just carry a jar lid, not to be confused with a Jar-Head ... although a Jar-Head could probably keep the bike from falling over. Doesn't take up any space and works great. Don Detloff Fair Haven, MI A14

I also use them as palettes for mixing epoxy. I suppose other uses could be: travel shaving mirror beverage coasters hors d'ouvre (sp?) plates ammo for a big disc-shooting toy gun; someone should capitalize on this one. Mark B2 A2

I found the perfect no-cost stand reinforcement for off pavement. I picked up a piece of truck tread that was on the side of the road. I didn't even need to trim it. About the size of my palm` I slip it into the top of my pack and pullit out as needed..Recycling at its best. Ohio [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

************ If anyone else needs a similar pad for their KLR, look on I-75. There ain't a 50 yard stretch that doesn't contain at least one large hunk of rubber. Looks like a proving ground for Firestone. Must be enough kickstand pads for at least 25 million KLR's between Southwest Florida and Canada. 8^) -- bierdo

A small piece of plywood might be less prone to breakage, I almost always carry one. Actually I never tried the CD maybe it's stronger than I think. Ed Windsor Ohio [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
