oil temp

Can anyone tell me if oil temps in the KLR would typically exceed 212 F or 100 C in the sump? That's the boiling point of water. I've got a rare earth magnet that I want to use in a drain plug, but it prob won't hold its magnetism after that temp. Rich

A friend of mine told me about this and I didnt believe him until I tried it. It works great! Lightly spray your clear plastic item, be it windscreen or visor with Lemon Pledge, take a clean cotton cloth, an old baby diaper for instance, and buff until the plastic is clear. Minor scratches and dings are no longer seen! ANd you get that fresh lemony scent as an added bonus. Next week, brightening those pesky spoke nipples with toothpaste, Tune in for more Helpful KLR hints from Heloise. LK
