Hi All,
Well I scanned the dyno run graphs on my old scanner here at home.
Unfortunately, if I raise the scan resolution to make the graphs legible,
the files are about 7MB each. Even the zipped version of the two graphs is
about 5MB. I think these files are just too big to post to a list. They
take forever to send/download.
I'll try a different scanner tomorrow and try to get smaller, postable
files. There are no earth shattering revelations in the runs, but I do
think the group will be interested in seeing how a stock A13 performs on the
dyno.

dyno runs
Attachments :
Hi All,
I've had a few requests to re-post the graphs of the dyno runs on my stock
A13. I put the graphs in a zip file in an attempt to make this e-mail a
little smaller. Let me know if anyone has any trouble reading these files.
Enjoy!

diesel klr article in rider's magazine

there someone that could scan the article on diesel KLR (pg 63) and e- mail it to me? Ohh Man!!! That's ONE BUTT UGLY BIKE! I got the March 2001 Rider issue and almost missed the article, its the one titled "Bureaucratic Bikes", just before the Utah/Moab article that I ended up buying the issue for when I didn't think it had the Maarine KLR Diesel article. Ohh Well, I guess it was lucky for me they had the Moab article! Well you don't want one of these Diesels, that for sure! They changed the head and piston to raise the compression (probably to 16 to 1 or better) and dropped the displacement from 651cc to 598 with a drop in HP of 50% from 48 down to 22. Thats probably what saves the crank and its end bearings, not to mention the connecting rod and crank journal... Torque is increased just a bit from 40 Ft-Lbs @ 5500RPM to 46 Ft-Lbs @ 3000RPM. That seems like an awfully high torque peak for a diesel, but I guess that would fit with the over- square engine geometry as most Diesels are set to use long stroke bores to get the efficiency of the cycle. It doesn't look like they put on a bigger back sprocket so my guess is that it is not much fun to ride at 22 HP. Another reason you don't want one of these is that the 6.7 gallon tank is ugly and everything on the bike is painted green, including the rims, swing arm, and *BOTH* inner and outer fork tubes (not sure how they pulled that one off with paint sliding by the fork seals), it looks like the usual military issue stuff that has been uglified to the point where even the black marketeers of 3rd world countries have to think twice before stealing it! :^> I bought a whole set of body parts and tank from these Hayes Diversified Technology guyes to upgrade the beater '97 KLR I bought last year into a Pseudo-2000 model. The guys I talked to wouldn't cop to building desert racers, border patrol bikes, or military, so I wasn't sure who I was really dealing with at all but had my suspiscions none the less when they swore that the parts were not stolen and were associated with a legitimate business venture. I have been wanting to see one of these bikes now for over 6 months and I must say it was something of a disapointment. Send me your addres and I'll mail you the article.> Hi, > > I tryed to find that magazine here in Canada but i couldn't. Is
