wanted: klr.... buy or trade.

Post by Andrew Grant » Tue Jan 30, 2001 11:07 am

Greetings all, I am new to the group but joined because I am ready to buy a KLR 650. I prefer the 1999 dark blue color to the new green. If anyone out there has a 1998 or newer KLR 650 or knows anyone who may want to part with theirs please let me know. I am willing to pay cash or trade my low mileage 1996 Vulcan Classic cruiser (10K miles http://sites.netscape.net/andrewggrant/vn800/index.html If you have problens due to the Netscape site... e-mail me for pics and description). Also, if anyone knows of any screaming deals... I would be willing to travel a bit to pickup a good KLR. My dealers in Northern AZ want $5520 - $5550 OTD for a 2001 and will not budge! I know this is very unusual, but I was able to purchase a 2001 KLR 650, with 344 miles on it from and individual in Corpus Christi, TX....ON EBAY!!! Every dealer in my area (3) told me they wouldn't let one go for under $5250, and that was prior to a 6.3% sales tax. I paid $4000 (after some fierce bidding)! Again, my sweet deal is very unusual, but proves that if you keep all your options open...dreams really do come true. Joe In Kansas

Guy, You and all the KLR riders can look for the WDSRC Banner in the start area for the Alligator Dual Sport. The WDSRC is a dual sport organization here in the south east with over 350 members. You'll find folks to ride with and folks to shoot the sh*% with.....visit our website at http;//www.geocities.com/Baja/Canyon/5245 Remember to wear your street legal knobbies. If you have street oriented tire, stay away from the alternate sections! Sand is deep! And consanttly picking up someone's bike is no fun for anyone! As for me, not sure whether I'll bring the KLR or KTM........ Swampy Guy, I also see you work for Bombardier. Never owned a ski-doo, sea-doo, or can-am but love your Canadien Beer!
