tool storage for the klr

Post by kd4zgk@hiwaay.net » Sun Jan 14, 2001 9:37 pm

Im looking for a bag or box that I can store my tools in.I want to put the tools on the back rack.A good sized weather proof box or leather pouch would be great. That seems like a good place to store them.Any Ideas anybody?

Personally, I cut down a .50 caliber ammo can to about 2.5" tall and bolted it to the front of my bash plate. Works fine. -Tom

I kinda like the PVC pipe attached to my Happy trails highway pegs/engine guard idea. Check out the article at the KLR650 dual sport web page. http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Downs/6164/page94.html Craig A15 PRUAV

All the body, windscreen, muffler guard and licence plate bracket bolts worked loose on mine when new. Even the Stem Head Nut worked loose and that one is torqued down 29 ft-lb. It is good to check them all. Empty tube of Locktite, John Biggest problem I have to contend with now is that in my four years away from bikes I had totally forgetten about the "new-bike-break-in-loose-bolt-falling-off" syndrome common to most motorcycles. Gotta check them all tomorrow now. So far looks like I lost only one from the front grill/mesh where the coolant sits. _______________________________________________________ Send a cool gift with your E-Card http://www.bluemountain.com/giftcenter/
