honda 1800 and the 1500 gl nklr..

Post by TLrydr@aol.com » Thu Dec 21, 2000 10:44 am

Don't knock it till you tried it, The new 1800 handles a lot better than the old 1500. Now it don't handle as good as our KLRs and its not as fun eather,And you could buy 3 and 1/2 KLRs for the price of the 1800 or 1500 for that matter, BUT it is the most PLUSH bike out there , Bar none,,,,, I get about 30 to 35 MPG on my GL 1500 SE The new 1800 is supose to get up to 50 MPG, Is what i heard, Mike << Me too. I think the old engine would be plenty. Which begs the question, How much is enough? I just read a review of the new Honda Goldwing 1800. Four 55w headlights, two 35w driving lights, 5 Micro processors, a cd player, 1100watt alternator, 100 ftlbs of torque, 858 pound dry weight. When does it end? The scary thing is that the new Goldwing has only 12 less parts than a Honda Civic! >>

I have ridden a GL1500. Pictures and negatives were destroyed shortly after. Ridding behind a barn door is not my idea of being a motorcyclist. MR

Handling and mpg be damned. If we're honest to ourselves, the new Wing is all about pulling chicks. 1800cc = babe-magnet, that's just the way it is. Ain't no replacement for displacement... Rich Capacity for Love
