Invincible order of the Korg and honorary BMW riders,
With today's oppressive weather snow,10 degrees and 45 mph winds,it's
time to reflect some.
A heated debate arose last night on whether you ride with more authority
on a bike that has been dropped.
DRx. Bmwzzzing/Team Prozac feels this is true because after the first
cosmetic damage is done, you are no longer concerned about the way it
looks. As if anyone truly looks at a dirty D/S bike on the trail lol. In
some motorcycle social circles, damage is considered a badge of honor.
The true "thrasher" syndrome if that's what you call it.
Drx. Jung/Hyde feels that pride/ego moto is a important part of the
ownership process. You dreamed, saved and paid big money for that
machine. Therefore keeping it clean, replacing functional broken
levers,new side covers,
using rim protectors while installing tyres etc. etc.,helps to boost
your riding confidence level.The
loving care of your machine is good for mind and body. Physical damage
indicates a lack of respect for it.
His theory is that most folks make a opinion on "first" impressions" on
the your looks, be it personal or your ride.
So it retrospect, do aesthetics make a difference? Does King rat
runner really ride better than the
than yuppie BMW boy ? Harley riders really pick up more girls ? Are BMW
riders afraid of crashing "oops drop" a big bucks GS machine vs a beat
up KLX ? LEO's more inclined to write you a ticket because he can't
read your muddy license plate ? maybe even bent on a upward angle to run
them gated roads better. Posers or Drx. Jung ?

Hey man,
My 99 KLR650 is scratchless and shiny. But, when it does get hammered, as I
know it will, I will love it even more!!
