Well as far as I know, it appears automatically with my signature unless I take special pains to delete it. In any event, it's http://www.toolcity.net/~smlnjack

I concur, if you havn't read Jack's ride report, you should. Even mentions Angeles Crest, Newcomb Ranch, and Wrightwood (Cal Posse's home range). Great job Jack, very well written! short in the saddle

Post by Dennis R. Eastman » Fri Dec 22, 2000 11:20 am

I am 5' 6" and consider myself vertically challenged. I bought my 2001 KLR650 in spite of the size and have had relatively few problems riding it. I recently purchased a set of lowering links for about $60 which effectively lowered the bike an inch and a half. It was a awesome difference. I feel a whole lot more confident in turns and coming to stops. The road feels like it's about 2 feet wider. Bang for the buck you can't beat the KLR650!!! Dennis Eastman - A15 deast@... However I am a bit short in the inseam... I sat on a KLR in the dealer showroom and it felt huge and is a putrid green. I am not new to cycling but it has been some years. Past Bikes were Hodaka Dirt Squirt, Honda XL 350, Suzuki GS 850. I anticipate most miles on new bike will be highway commute with a few dirt roads, and an occassional foray into mountains and trails. I am not an agressive motocross style rider... but want something reliable that can get me to remote places from time to time. I would like to hear from vertically challenged about the KLR650. I would also consider DR650 but aftermarket doesnt appear as developed for DR. I really like the looks of BMW F650... I got the itch but I aint got the scratch...
