'nother tire question

My wife's KLR250 just became a bouncy ride with its blow rear shock. I understand this is not rebuildable. Kawasaki want over $700 for a replacement! The shock is not very well made to begin with I don't think- it's just not burly enough. I know Progressive makes a replacement, but is there any other option that you guys might know of?
