balance shaft problems

First of all HOW COOL ARE THESE PAGES! I'm having few problems with my klr at the moment and its been suggested that this could well be the balance shaft. I would really like to know how difficult a job this is and a few tips. I understand that theire is a locating pin on the underside of the l/h engine housing. This has been removed, (B4 I GOT IT). So could well be the root of the problem, i hope. Any advice would be gratefully and thankfully recieved as trying to track down a manual here (uk) is like trying to find rocking horse shit.
