nklr: a great relaxer

Post by Brad Davis » Mon Oct 09, 2000 8:55 am

Good Morning Listers, I had my final interview with a prospective employer Friday and had a couple of hours to kill before my appointment. Well, I was kind of fidgety and was tired of reviewing technical stuff so I decided to relax and take a ride on my KLR. I left Cary about 9:30 am, the sky was clear and the air was still crisp. As I cruised down old US 1 highway I could tell Fall was on its way as I caught the scent of firewood burning and noticed the colors that the trees are beginning to take. After I turned off the highway and headed towards the little village of Bonsal, I saw the old Train Museum that I have been hearing about for years but never had time to find. I made a mental note to put the museum on the list of local spots to take my family. Past Bonsal, I came to Lake Jordan, which is a water source for the Raleigh/Durham area and is a popular spot for the local sportsmen. The road winds around the lake and crosses it a few times where the vista opens to reveal the Pine forests and the groupings of Maples and Poplars. I had to slow down once on this section of the road while a squirrel decided which way it wanted to skittle. The road I am on intersects Highway 64, which I reluctantly take as I realize it is time to head towards home. One hour and 20 minutes later I roll into my driveway, relaxed and optimistic about the day. Well, the final interview went well and it looks like a job offer is on the way. Now, I can t say it was all because of my morning ride, but I do think it played a part in defining my mental attitude that day. Ride on everyone and I hope you all have a good day today.
