List: I must admit that I would feel a lot safer if I took a handgun on my Americas Motopaseo, if it weren't for the fact that Latin American countries like Mexico will put any foreigner in prison for a long time just for being caught with a handgun. That makes it more dangerous to have a gun than not to have one. I don't feel as threatened here in the US or Canada. I was robbed 28 years ago in Mexico by 4 bandidos waving machetes. I am 63 years of age and have never been robbed in the US and I have hung around some pretty dubious places and people. Here in Florida it is very easy to legally have a concealed firearm. I used to carry a 9 mm Glock, but came to the conclusion it was not worth the risk of shooting someone illegally. The places where I would most have wanted the extra security of a gun was in some of the bars I used to hang around in. Unfortunately, even in liberal Florida, a bar is one of the places where firearms are not allowed, even with a concealed firearm permit. I am willing to hear some advice on how best to keep me and my Yorkie from becoming dinner for a bear or some other wild animal while camping during my Americas Motopaseo. Feedback please.
