Not that I necessarily agree with anyone's political opinion on this list, but I
don't think that what Mark Weaver did was a bad thing. I jump back and forth on
the issue everyday because I know for every responsible lister who simply wants
to be able ride their KLR on our public lands, there are a thousand
irresponsible riders who would run the land the bare and another thousand
environmentalists who would like to make sure no one but themselves have access
to it. Life is constantly about making informed choices and I think that Mark is
justified in posting to the list as it DOES concern us. But most of all -> Feel
lucky that you can CALL your representative to express your opinion... I
unfortunately live in Washington DC where I have NO CONGRESSIONAL representation
AND A NON-VOTING seat in the house AND I HAVE TO PAY TAXES. So don't yammer on
about how politically abusive you are to each other AT LEAST YOU HAVE OF
REPRESENTATION! Yep, last of the colonies! This year's new DC license plate tag
line: TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION. (Damn! it won't be on the motorcycle
plates)
So vote which ever way you want, but be informed. Please. For me.

Bold statement from someone who doesn't even know me... but I'll let
that one slide.
My point is this. If this land issue is important to some of the KLR
listers, maybe a seperate list should be set up for
the discussion of such issues. Then when something is posted to it,
pro or con, a brief message is posted to this list saying that a new
entry has been posted to the Environment list and anyone interested
can go there and pound their chest and rant and rave.
But don't post some anti-environmental propaganda to this list and
then expect everyone to sit on their hands and not respond. Some of
you may be sheep, but I'm not.
