Hi Lew, I have almost 86,000 miles on a '90 KLR650 and the motor is all original. Sept 28 it's going to the dealer for a new balancer chain and associated parts and to have the clutch basket and springs inspected. I have had no problems but feel the motor is on the edge of its expected life. Whitehorse Press in Conway New Hampshire has a good cycle book about Newfoundland and Labrador titled This is not the Mainland by Rannie Gillis. Nimbus Publishing ISBN 1-55109-286-7.
