I'm new on here. How did you do the bar end add on? And does filling the bars with some substance work as well> One thing I plan to do for sure is add some heated grips, any one know if I can run those and a vest without killing the battery?>On a mod note.....Bar ends & gel grips! Did it. Does wonders. If you're not >already bark bustered, try it, it's a cheap mod, easy to do, & you won't be >disappointed. > >Scott >A14 "thunderdog"

european klr's wanted!!!
Korgites-
I have yet to replace the bent front fork tube on my KLR650 because I
haven't time as of late, but this afternoon I did have an interesting chat
with Mike Walburn over at Dual-Star about replacing the forks with something
more robust. I had contacted him about a rumour I had heard on the list of a
set of USD forks being developed by Dual-Star, but those are still on the
back burner over there and who knows what will have to be done to get them
mounted on the KLR.
After talking about the bike's horrible front brake and the options that we
have, I figured if I wanted better braking I would have to abandon the
current US setup completely. I know MAP makes a larger rotor, but you're
still stuck with the same wimpy single piston POS standard caliper. So I
think my best choice is to go to the C-series front end with the 43mm forks
and larger brake and better caliper. I know these were just intro'd into
Canada, but Mike said they've been floating around Europe for awhile... He
thought since about 94 or 95, but does anyone actually know when the
European edition with the good front end showed up??? And does anyone know
of a KLR parts shop over in Europe? Or a dualsport shop over there? I really
want to start looking over there for a front end.
Hopefully it shouldn't be too expensive, but I can't continue riding with
the brakes the way they currently are.
TIA,
Zack
