fan not coming on/sighting

Hello, 1st, my sighting . I saw a KLR on the 15 near Jurupa ave in Fontana Ca @8am today. 2nd. On my way to work this am they CHP's decided to close the 91 freeway down. So I got to do some stop and go stuff trying to find the detour. Well all the sudden my bike started to bubble.. I looked down and my temperature gauge was all the way in the red. My fan had not come on. I pulled over and inspected the wires etc and everything looked good. Does anyone know why my fan would not come on? Suggestions? Comments? Dale
