By the way, when I first tried on my Darien Jacket and Pants two years ago I felt I'd been ripped-off, they were so stiff.  The collar gave me an instant raw spot.  I love the hell out of the suit now. My advice is to wash it right away.  It may cause you to have to Scotchguard it again, but I think the collar will be softer faster that way, and the overall stiffness will be less.
