I have the Discovery boots and love them. The Discovery does have a waterproof inner lining, it doesn't look like the Alpinestars do. They would account for the price difference. On the road its great, my feet stay dry, warm, and toasty. But for trail riding, I'm not sure the waterproof inner lining does much since I have found myself many times having to put a foot down in a stream, or falling off in a stream or giant mud hole. In those cases, the water gets in no matter what you're wearing, so a waterproof inner lining may be a waste of money if you're doing a lot of wet trail riding. And in the basic black they're not too flashy either.
