sprocket dilemma

Post by steve6018@cs.com » Mon Aug 14, 2000 9:13 pm

Hi Guys, Once again, I need some GOOD advice. Gotta y2k klr650, which I use strictly on the road...well maybe a few fire lanes now and then, but nothing serious. I mounted a sissy bar on the back to keep my passengers from scootin off. Mounted a bigger fairing on the front to keep the wind fatigue down. Am thinking about changing the gearing to drop the rpms down some at highway speeds. Whats the most teeth on the front sprocket that anyone has put on? Did it make a noticeable difference at highway speeds? Has anyone changed the rear sprocket out for a smaller one? The hardest thing I've done is put the bigger fairing on.... the stationary light was a big problem. But I have it on there with the original light... just gotta do some fiberglass work to make it a new shroud..... I'll post pics when I get done.
