separate mirror mount

Post by Rich Kickbush » Tue Aug 08, 2000 10:02 pm

Does anyone know who makes a stand-alone mirror mount for standard 7/8" bars? I want to take the left mirror off the control unit, and put in on its own mount. Cheers, Rich

separate mirror mount

Re: Separate mirror mount Hi guys, I just went through a mirror search for my KLX 650 R as it didn't come with mirrors or mirror mounts. We have place called Bent Bike out here that's a wrecker for bikes, but they also sell all kinds of cheap parts and accessories. They had a whole wall full of replacement mirrors with all kinds of mounts. Some had the standard 10mm threaded post hole, others were a simple band that tightened around the bar. You might want to make a few calls if you have any shops like that near you. I also considered buying a used clutch perch that has the 10mm threaded post hole and bar mount, and then taking a Dremel to the clutch lever mount, basically ending up with the mirror mount. I ended up buying a mirror mount that replaces half of the collar on my clutch perch so I can now mount a standard mirror. Got it from a local shop who ordered it from Answer I believe, $15.00. I could look it up at home if anyone is interested. JC Whitney must also have something like this. Tell me I'm not going mad. The KLR does have a cush drive in the rear, right? The rubber dampening system? One of my suppliers is trying to tell me that its not, and now I'm double checking to make sure. Rich
