front sprocket differances

Post by emc4jhp@yahoo.com » Sun Aug 06, 2000 11:35 am

I thought I'd pass this along so that nobody else would make the same mistake I did. I didn't find this information in any previous posts. The front sprockets sold by Sprocket Specialists are year specific. That is, one part number for 87-89 (504k) and another for 90-98(2000) (615), at least according to their webpage. I bought a new sprocket from a list memeber and assumed it would work on my bike (2000). Needless to say, I doesn't- my fault as I should have asked. It is much too thin and the nut won't even touch the sprocket. It doesn't have the bolt holes I would have thought would be nessessary for the early design though.
