hearing going bad

Hello list, I am experiencing hearing problems, on my 8 day tour, after the second day I started to wear earplugs because after riding on the highway for six to seven hours my ears were ringing. I use a supertrapp "quiet" version and it probably needs to be repacked, what a chore, anyway I also ride in a nice quiet x-8 helmet. 8 days later I still don't hear the same, anyone else have this problem? Is there a decent aftermarket quiet pipe on the market? Has anyone tried the yoshimura? I have heard a few people say yhat wind noise is the real culprit to riding associated hearing problems, who makes the tallest windsheild that is practical? I have the tall Kawie screen, but it may not be tall enough. -neil
