Depends on where you buy and what type. O-Ring $70-$100+. Non O-Ring is cheaper.

Rare problem so it's not normal, but it sounds like a valid solution. Depends on the wear on the chain and sprokets and possibility of warranty replacement due to defect.

Chain tension shouldn't cause that, but can cause other more serious problems. I'd say a defect or foreign object thrown up onto chain? Rex A7
