[dsn_klr650] tall riders only
Hi Nick,
6'-6" and 225# here. I have only done performance mods so far, but when I
bought my bike, it had a Corbin seat installed. The Corbin seat doesn't
seem to be very popular with other listers, but it seems to fit my butt
pretty well.
I have been thinking about a taller windshield too. I'm afraid a taller
windshield will kill my KRL Krouch, but I'll keep an open mind.
It may look kinda goofy, but if I put my left hand on the handlebar cross
piece, I can rest my helmet's chin bar on my hand. Then I put my feet on
the passenger pegs and get into a fairly comfortable highway position. The
effects of wind gusts and big truck wakes are reduced too.
Let me know what you do to your bike.
Jim

[...] Yeah it is poor. I guess it's the factory's way of protecting the shift lever shaft from damage. Once you get the original shifter properly welded you shouldn't have any more concerns. However, if you move the lever down one spline there is a fair chance the lever will hit the frame rail and make shifting into 1st a little tricky, giving you the impression there is something going wrong with the box. Been there, done that. Mister_T> The weld on the back of my lever is no more than a spot weld, and > doesn't even go all the way across the joint! No bloody wonder these > things fail all the time.
