From my research to date this looks to be the perfect choice for my purpose. I want it for sealed but rough back country roads, unsealed metalled backcountry roads and some ability on unmetalled 'paper roads' & trails. The particular bike I am looking at has about 90 000km on the clock. I know 2 of the 3 most recent owners (small town...) and it seems to have been reasonably well looked after, if well used. (They both agree the bike is indestructable!) Could any listees recomend what I could/should be looking for when I check the bike over in a couple of days time? (see, I got to the point eventualy!) Hello KLR list. (apologies in advance for breaches of list ettiquite) My name is Matt. I live in rural New Zealand and presently own a small/mid size sport bike. I have become interested in a dual purpose bike following increasing component failure (cycle parts/chassis), and scary slides etc, on my road bike. (I really don't think Laverda had unsealed roads in mind when they designed the 668! ) So I have been looking around for a more suitable bike to use for this.
